Welcome to Ians' Dreamtime

Since a child I have had more than a keen interest in History and Mythology, especially Ancient Mythology with its stories of ancestors, Gods and Heroes.

Later I came to realise these myths and stories were the foundation of ancient society and culture, an explanation of how and why things happen and what to expect in the life after. What I find intriguing is how the human mind works at different periods of time and how the creative process influences the thoughts, dreams, stories and spiritual beliefs of an individual. These stories, thoughts and dreams are reflected in the art of the time.

As a teenager I was exposed to a new culture born in the neighbourhoods of New York City which spread across the world. Hip Hop had a range of new, fresh and creative art forms including music, dance and, what I was/am specifically drawn to, the Subway Art, which burst from those New York streets and Train Yards.

It's taken longer than maybe it should have, as life leads you along different paths, but a new journey has been embarked upon. From my thoughts and dreams...... an interpretation of characters from Egyptian and Aztec Mythology mixed with Subway Art styles come to fruition and are depicted in these pages.

But creativity doesn't stand still and from those initial dreams and ideas, new dreams evolve and the stories and adventures of Tupak begin.
